The 5 Star Merrion Hotel in Dublin commissioned this unique blanket to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2022. Ellie's colour choices were inspired by the Mainie Jellett painting 'Mother & Child' which hangs in the hotel and is currently part of the Art of Friendship exhibition at the National Gallery of Ireland. Cushendale wove the Merrion Blanket from indigenous Irish wool spun from the fleece of native 'Galway' sheep at their Woollen Mills in Graiguenamanagh, Co. Kilkenny. It is a perfect gift for anyone who loves The Merrion, or as a souvenir of a wedding, anniversary, birthday or other special occasion celebrated at the hotel. 10% of the proceeds from the sale of The Merrion Blanket go to support the work of the Together Academy a unique college and social enterprise café in Dublin.
